Knowing I had to change my diet do to being carbohydrate intolerant, I researched several different diets and quickly realized the ketogenic diet was the best option for me. A well-formulated ketogenic diet is roughly 75% fat, 20% protein, and 5% carbohydrate. Out of the three macronutrients carbs, protein, and fat only carbs and fats are good sources of energy. Protein is mostly a building block for your muscles, hair, nails, etc. If you reduce your carbs, then you must increase the amount of healthy fats, mainly monounsaturated and saturated, in order to consume enough energy to maintain cellular health.
This lead to my next big ‘lightbulb moment. I founded PangeaKeto with my partner Chef Matthew Hayden with the idea of offering others this opportunity to improve their lifestyle. I really want to help others who see my situation mirroring their own experiences.
